ANTELOPE ACRES, Los Angeles County — Less than three weeks after the Jarvis Fire, the Antelope Acres area experienced another brush-fire response. The Domino Fire, near 110th Street West, reached 20 acres and was contained on August 29, 2026.

How the incident unfolded

According to CAL FIRE’s official Domino Fire page, the fire began at approximately 4:41 p.m. on August 29. Early updates estimated 5–10 acres and warned that structures could be threatened. By approximately 5:18 p.m., officials reported that the forward progress of the blaze had stopped at 20 acres, aircraft were being released and crews were continuing cleanup.

The state record lists the containment time as 7 p.m. on August 29, with an updated report the following morning. The fire was recorded in Los Angeles County and the cause remained under investigation.

A different incident from the Jarvis Fire

The Domino Fire is a separate event from the August 10 Jarvis Fire, which occurred near West Avenue G-8 and 90th Street West and burned 362 acres. The fires had different dates and reported locations. Their acreage totals should not be added and presented as a single wildfire.

Why the location matters to rural residents

Homes, outbuildings, agricultural uses and animals can be spread over large distances in Antelope Acres. Even a relatively small fire may threaten access along local roads when wind shifts or smoke reduces visibility. Residents should know at least two practical exit options where available, identify where livestock can be moved and keep the latest emergency contacts accessible.

A contained historical fire does not mean the landscape is fireproof or that another emergency is underway. For active conditions, use the state incident list and Los Angeles County public-safety notices, never a weeks-old article.
